France striker Thierry Henry claims he is bemused by critics of Brazilian striker Ronaldo.
Henry, whose team face Brazil on Saturday in Frankfurt in the quarter-final of the World Cup, claims he is an admirer of Ronaldo who, in scoring his 15th goal in three of his four World Cups - he was in the squad but did not play in 1994 - eclipsed the 32-year-old record of West Germany legend Gerd Muller.
"Ronaldo has always been a very dangerous player," said Henry of the 29-year-old who has three times been named FIFA World Player of the Year.
"If you give him a shooting chance or the chance to accelerate he always makes you pay.
"He does not move much and gets criticised but scores 20 goals every season.
"What he is good at is getting between two defenders and beating the offside trap and we have to realise what a danger he is."
Henry's France team-mate Lilian Thuram agrees.
"If he's the best scorer of all time in a World Cup then there must be a reason for that," said Thuram.
"He still has all his ability - he keeps quiet but at any time he is capable of producing that moment of quality like an assist or a goal."
