Switzerland defender Philippe Senderos is out of the World Cup after dislocating his shoulder in Friday night's 2-0 victory over South Korea.
The Arsenal centre-back, who scored the opening goal, may have to have an operation.
"He will be out for a minimum of two weeks," said Swiss team doctor Rudolf Roeder.
"There is a 50% chance he will require an operation but the most important thing is rest for now."
The 21-year-old, who suffered a cut to his face after heading in the first-half opener against Korea, sustained ligament damage to his shoulder after falling awkwardly in the 53rd minute.
However, the injury is not expected to impact on the player's Premiership season, which kicks-off on August 19 at home to Aston Villa.
