Holland are preparing themselves for the acid test of their World Cup credentials, with Arjen Robben insisting there is more to come from Marco van Basten's men.
Robben has been the shining light in the Dutch camp so far, picking up man-of-the-match awards in wins over Serbia and Montenegro and the Ivory Coast, which sealed qualification out of the 'Group of Death' with a game to spare.
However, tonight in Frankfurt Robben and his team-mates should really find out what they are made of as they tackle an Argentina side which has shaded Spain as the most impressive in the tournament so far.
But Holland are not too far behind and the Chelsea winger feels there is improvement still to be made.
"There is more to come from us," claimed Robben. "We have played two difficult opponents so far but we have to be satisfied with the way it has turned out.
"One problem we have had is that while we have started games well, we found it difficult to maintain the pressure.
"We should be able to push forward a bit more in the second half of matches, although we also have to recognise we have been playing against tough opponents who are capable of making things difficult."
Knowing his side need a win to leapfrog the South Americans and sidestep a likely last 16 pairing with Portugal, Van Basten may devalue one of the most eye-catching encounters of the entire group phase by leaving out half a dozen players perched precariously on one yellow card.
That does not mean the Dutch are declining to take the game seriously, more that Van Basten - still a relative rookie to the coaching game - is adopting a steely realism which Robben accepts.
"It would be nice to finish top but the main thing is to qualify, which is what we have done," said the 22-year-old.
"Our results so far have taken the pressure off to an extent and it does mean we don't have to approach Argentina in quite the same way."
Van Basten added: "I am not sure yet how many changes there will be. We will discuss them with our technical staff and then decide. We have 23 players so we have a few possibilities."
