Togo's World Cup Group G match with Switzerland looks set to go ahead after reports that the players had been paid overdue bonuses for qualifying.

Togo skipper Jean-Paul Abalo had warned yesterday that, unless the players received payments he claimed they were owed, the team would hold a meeting this morning and decide collectively whether to fulfil the fixture.

Reports in the German media suggest at least some of the money has been paid with daily Bild reporting that two large cases of money had arrived.

Staff at the Westfalenstadion confirmed that, as far as they were concerned, the match was going ahead.

Togo had originally threatened not to travel to Dortmund for the match but relented after pressure from FIFA following assurances from the Togo Football Federation.

(reopens) Any lingering doubt about the fixture taking place was ended at 1327 1227 BST when the Togo team coach arrived at the Westfalenstadion.

Coach Otto Pfister was first to get off followed by his players.
