Ghana coach Ratomir Dujkovic has told his players to get down to work as they prepare for the most vital game in the country's history.
A wave of euphoria has hit the west African nation after the shock 2-0 victory against the Czech Republic.
Now the United States lie in wait on Thursday, with a place in the last 16 still a possibility.
But Serbian boss Dujkovic said: "The victory is only in one match and I have to calm our players down.
"It is important I warn them not to be too excited.
"Our task now is to focus on preparation for the next game, which will be decisive for both teams."
Ghana never looked back on Saturday after Asamoah Gyan opened the scoring in the second minute, with Sulley Muntari extending their lead.
However, both players will miss the USA clash as they are suspended after picking up second yellow cards.
Midfielder Otto Addo believes they still can trouble the USA, who held Italy to a draw on Saturday evening.
"We have to go for it as we must win this match," said Addo.
"Qualification is near now and I am sure we can go on and progress."
The Czechs are struggling to get a team together and their options look limited, especially in attack.
Milan Baros and Jan Koller are struggling with injuries while Vratislav Lokvenc has been ruled out of the crucial clash through suspension.
Fiorentina defender Tomas Ujfalusi will also be on the sidelines after his straight red card against Ghana.
Coach Karel Bruckner said: "We have yet to decide on the replacements but we need to bring young players in to strengthen the team.
"We worked hard against Ghana and I could not fault my players for a lack of effort.
"We lost a goal early and that damaged us. It left us facing an uphill battle.
"But I have to congratulate Ghana as their attacking play was extraordinary."
