Tunisia coach Roger Lemerre is upbeat about his team's chances against in-form Spain in their second World Cup Group H clash on Monday.

The Spaniards produced a superb display to down Ukraine 4-0 in their opening match but Lemerre believes his team will not suffer the same fate.

"Spain looked impressive in their first game," said Lemerre.

"I believe all their players rowed in the same direction in order to get three points.

"Spain have come here to achieve a good result in this tournament, and so have we.

"We must reply mentally and physically with the same weapons."

The Carthage Eagles battled to earn a 2-2 draw in their opening group match against Saudi Arabia thanks to Radhi Jaidi's injury-time goal.

Lemerre, who led Tunisia to success in the African Nations Cup in 2004 - four years after taking France to European Championships glory - is well aware his side will have to play at their very best to beat Luis Aragones' men.

"We know Spain will not give anything away," said Lemerre.

"I hope my players go on the pitch with a lot of determination following our disappointing draw against Saudi Arabia.

"I expect my players will have to give 100%.

"Whether it's tactically, physically or emotionally, we have to give our best as a team.

"If we do so, it could be the Spaniards will begin to question how good they are."

Lemerre will not announce his starting XI just yet.

"I will speak to my assistants and to the more experienced players before making any decisions," he said.

"It's possible I will make some changes in the team both in defence and in attack but the most important thing is to play with more concentration."

However, Lemerre has confirmed star player Francileudo dos Santos will not feature against Spain due to injury.

The Brazilian-born striker has yet to recover from a muscle problem in his left leg and the Toulouse man is also doubtful for the final group game against Ukraine.

However, Lemerre has confidence Troyes forward Zied Jaziri will make Spain's defence work hard.

"Jaziri is just as prepared as (Spain defender) Carles Puyol is," he said.
