France coach Raymond Domenech was left clutching at straws after his side drew 1-1 with South Korea.
The result leaves France's qualification from Group G in some doubt but Domenech insisted his side should have been awarded a second goal when Patrick Vieira's first-half header appeared to cross the line.
Thierry Henry had scored France's first World Cup goal for eight years but Manchester United's Park Ji-Sung grabbed a late equaliser to keep the Koreans at the top of the group.
Domenech said: "Like my players I feel disappointed - we prepared so thoroughly but we did not manage to turn the game around.
"We did score a second goal but it was not recognised.
"If you appealed every time you feel a mistake has been made it would be a never-ending story but video replays would definitely have helped clarify this situation.
"It's a pity that at this level we do not use all the technology that we could.
"We have to play another match against Togo now and we do not know what events will happen."
Domenech refused to answer when asked if he had got his tactics for the match wrong, and France will have to play against Togo without Zinedine Zidane and Eric Abidal who both picked up suspensions.
The France coach added: "We put the pressure on and had a grip on the game and were dominating it, but our second goal was not given and that was the turning point.
"Perhaps we should have counter-attacked quicker and should have geared up and put more pressure on them."
Zidane had a disappointed game, but Domenech said: "I was very satisfied with the performance of all our players. Two of course are out but we have a squad of 23 and they will have to be replaced and we can only say that we are sorry."
South Korea coach Dick Advocaat was beaming with pride in his team at the final whistle and insisted France were still top-quality opponents.
He said: "I'm very proud of the team. Just like against Togo we came from 1-0 down, and this time we were able to get a draw against what in my opinion is still a great France team.
"In the second half we brought on an extra winger and we were able to attack more, and despite all the quality they have we were able to score and hold on.
"Results like this will not happen often away from Korea so now it's important to celebrate and tomorrow night we will start thinking about Switzerland.
"We have to take it game by game, we have four points but the last game is the most important one.
"We were lucky in the first half that it was just 1-0, they controlled the game for all the 45 minutes. In the second half we put a little bit more pressure on them, and that made it a lot easier for us."
Asked about Zidane, Advocaat added: "I have great admiration for Zidane. He was once the world's greatest player and we have to judge him that way."
Park, who was voted man of the match, was delighted Korea had pulled off an upset.
He said: "I'm very proud that we played against such a strong team and drew - not many people expected this to happen.
"We are going to give it our best as we did in 2002 and everything is now open."
