Didier Drogba is convinced the pain of defeat can spur the Ivory Coast to victory against Holland.

Drogba got his name on the scoresheet when the Elephants made their historic World Cup bow in Hamburg last Saturday but it was not enough to prevent Argentina snatching a lucky win.

The result, coupled with Holland's triumph over Serbia and Montenegro 24 hours later, means the Ivorians might as well book their flights back to Africa if they are unable to avoid a second successive setback.

Even a draw may not help Drogba's men survive the 'Group of Death' such is the standard they are expected to reach.

But the Chelsea forward is convinced the negative experience of last weekend can provide the extra spur required for his side to keep their campaign alive.

"We missed a big chance against Argentina, which shows we still have much to learn," he said.

"But the defeat only makes us more determined to do well against Holland.

"It is not going to be easy for us, we always knew that.

"But we have good players and we will give it a go."

The Ivory Coast's wily French coach Henri Michel is expected to stick with the same starting line-up, although he could tinker with his formation slightly to try to get more support to Drogba.

But Michel will also be keen to ensure spaces are not left at the back, which Arouna Kone - who plies his trade in Holland with PSV Eindhoven - knows the Dutch could exploit, particularly with Chelsea winger Arjen Robben in their attack.

"Robben is probably the most important player in their team," said 22-year-old Kone.

"He led all their attacks in the first game and there is no doubt he is a great player."

Unfortunately for the Ivory Coast, Robben does not represent Holland's sole threat.

Arsenal's Robin van Persie will also be eager to make an impact after complaining about the lack of service he received against the Serbians.

"I know Robin quite well from our teenage years," said Kone, who moved to Holland three years ago, scoring 28 goals in two seasons with Roda JC before joining PSV last summer.

"He had huge potential then and he has worked hard to develop that talent."
