Bolton's Radhi Jaidi headed a last-gasp equaliser as Tunisia denied Saudi Arabia victory in a thrilling 2-2 draw in World Cup Group H in Munich.
Veteran striker Sami Al Jaber looked like he had fired the Saudis to a famous victory when he finished off a sweeping move seven minutes from time.
But Trotters defender Jaidi had the final say when he rose to power home a close-range header in the third minute of stoppage time.
The Tunisians started the brighter of the two teams and, with barely two minutes on the clock Australian referee Mark Shield was forced to turn down what looked like a legitimate penalty claim when Rehda Tukar upended Zied Jaziri.
Just six minutes later, Adel Chedli's corner caused consternation for the Saudis and Karim Haggui's downward header bounced over the bar.
Saudi Arabia offered little threat to the Tunisian goal, although former Asian Player of the Year Nawaf Al Temyat's shot was deflected wide for a corner 14 minutes into the game while his Al Hilal team-mate Yasser Al Kahtani saw his header bounce weakly to safety.
Jaziri opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when he fired an acrobatic volley home from inside the penalty area that gave goalkeeper Mabrouk Zaid no chance after the Saudi defence struggled to clear a lofted free-kick.
The Saudis picked up after that with central defender Tukar firing a well-struck free-kick goalwards which was comfortably collected by Ali Boumnijel, while Al Temyat fired an effort just wide of goal as the half drew to a close.
Saudi Arabia continued to press after the break with Mohammed Noor wasting a good chance in front of goal, before Al Temyat fired a 30-yard free-kick over the bar.
But the equaliser arrived in the 57th minute when Noor delivered a cross from the right wing to the near post for the lurking Al Kahtani, who fired a first-time effort into the roof of the net.
However, the game went disappointingly flat thereafter until seven minutes from time when former Wolves man Al Jaber - barely 90 seconds after his introduction as a substitute - picked up Malek Mouath's pass to slot home.
Hussein Sulimani then hit the post with a deflected free-kick as Tunisia breathed again and after that escape they pushed forward in the dying moments to salvage a last-gasp draw as Jaidi headed home Jaziri's pinpoint cross.
