Leo Beenhakker welcomed the news that Wayne Rooney might play a part in Thursday's World Cup match against Trinidad and Tobago but then stuck the boot into England.

The Dutchman, whose team shocked Sweden with a goalless draw in their opening match, said: "We have a lot of respect for England but we are not impressed. No, not at all. We saw England struggle for the whole 90 minutes against Paraguay."

Beenhakker believes the players from the smallest nation at this World Cup can produce another epic performance, especially if the weather is as hot as it was last weekend.

He also insists they want to face Rooney, who has been declared match fit by England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Said Beenhakker: "I'm very happy the guy is back. The World Cup deserves to see the best players. I'm looking forward to it, hopefully he can make it.

"No one has to explain to me that there is a lot of difference in the talent England and Trinidad and Tobago can bring on to the pitch.

"We know we have to compensate with something. If we play based on our talent we will have a very difficult match. But you can compensate by playing with a lot of courage and passion.

"The players showed versus Sweden that they had no complexes in their head. They were just playing to go for it and do the best they could. We will do the same tomorrow."

In a final press conference which was as relaxed as Trinidad's training camp all week, Beenhakker also had a message for those fans who have been pouring money on England, some of whom believe David Beckham's men could win by as many as six goals.

Said Beenhakker: "Keep on dreaming."

He went on to cite England's 1-0 defeat against Northern Ireland during their qualifying campaign back in September in Belfast.

He said: "Those fans had a very dark and black day against Northern Ireland in their recent history.

"The fans didn't expect that. They think their team are the best but they have to show it. Let them dream, let them hope.

"I haven't mentioned Northern Ireland to my team. But I have told them we see big teams struggling like France against Switzerland."

Beenhakker confirmed that West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop would play after recovering from a slight injury and that his side were hoping for another sweltering day, even though the kick-off is 6pm local time.

He also put the tie in perspective, saying: This is very special because England are a special nation in football in a historic way.

"I'm a big fan of football and I am looking forward to seeing some of these guys so close to my players.

"My players are extra motivated because it is a dream for them. What do they have to lose?
