Otto Pfister's long-term future as Togo coach again remains unclear.
While he spoke openly about their game next Monday against Switzerland, there is apparently growing disquiet among the Togo Football Federation about his role.
Pfister, 68, returned to the fold just before their opening game against South Korea after walking out following a row about unpaid bonuses.
However, his reappearance failed to have the necessary effect and his team lost 2-1.
Pfister believes his players will have to show a change in attitude against Switzerland - providing he is in charge - if they are to stay in the competition.
He felt his team paid the price for being over-confident against South Korea.
Togo took the lead through Mohamed Kader but Jean-Paul Abalo's sending off weakened them.
Pfister said: "The great thing about football is you always get another chance.
"I am disappointed as we had counted on three points but it's now water under the bridge.
"We have to concentrate on the next game with Switzerland.
"We played well against South Korea but the sending off and substitution of Jean-Paul weakened us."
Pfister was less than open about his long-term future with the African nation, however. "No comment," he stated emphatically.
