Paraguay remain confident they can at least match their achievements of the past two World Cups and qualify for the last 16.
The winners of the South Americans' match against Sweden in Berlin's Olympic Stadium will regard themselves as firm favourites for second place in Group B.
The 1-0 defeat by England on Saturday still rankles with Paraguay, who thought they were worthy of at least a point, and striker Roque Santa Cruz insists they have shown they have nothing to fear against Sweden.
Santa Cruz said: "There was no point being miserable about the defeat by England.
"I thought we played well and that will give us confidence for our other games. We have plenty of good players in our squad and we can build on our performance.
"I still believe we can get into the round of 16 and face Germany.
"We must not get desperate if we have not scored early on, we must be patient and calm."
Keeper Justo Villar, who limped out of the England game after just eight minutes, is out for at least two weeks with a calf muscle and his replacement Aldo Bobadilla will continue. Defender Delio Toledo is also doubtful.
Nelson Valdez, who had Paraguay's best chance against England, will partner Santa Cruz in attack again.
