Costa Rica striker Paolo Wanchope is hoping to return to Germany after the World Cup and secure a move to the Bundesliga.

The former Manchester City star scored twice to scare the host nation in the opening fixture of the 2006 finals last Friday and the 29-year-old revealed that a move to Germany would appeal to him.

"I can certainly imagine myself playing in Germany, why not?" said Wanchope, who is available on a free transfer from Costa Rican outfit Herediano.

"I am retiring from the international game, but want to try another move abroad."
