Mateja Kezman insists Serbia and Montenegro can still escape the 'group of death' despite losing their opening match against Holland.

The former Chelsea striker, now at Atletico Madrid, claims his side were unlucky to lose to a single Arjen Robben goal.

He said: "There are still six points to play for. We played good football against Holland and were a bit unlucky to lose.

"We have four days to recover now before the next game against Argentina on Friday, which is fortunate because it was extraordinarily hot for Germany."

Central defender Mladen Krstajic believes Serbia can take heart from their performance.

He said: "In my opinion the best team lost and we were very unfortunate.

"We have drawn a very difficult group but there is still everything to play for. We can be proud of our performance and be confident for the games ahead."
