The Czech Republic's watertight defence is going to be tough for any side to break down this summer - and the emergence of David Rozehnal is one of the main reasons for this.

Featuring heavily in the second half of the Czechs' qualifying campaign, Rozehnal has become one of the first names on Karel Bruckner's teamsheet for his assured performances at the back.

However the steely defender had to bide his time for his international chance having been used only fleetingly during the country's run to the semi-finals in Euro 2004.

A commanding presence at the back with no shortage of pace, Rozehnal spent the early stages of his club career with Sigma Olomouc but his big break came in 2003 when he joined Club Brugge.

The Belgians underused Rozehnal so Paris St Germain came into rescue the wasted talent last summer and since then the 25-year-old has never looked back, become a mainstay for the French giants who managed to win the French Cup this year, beating Marseille 2-1 in the final.
