Alex Tachie-Mensah's return to the international fold from the wilderness will give Ghana extra firepower this summer.

Since winning his first cap at the 2002 African Nations Cup, the 29-year-old forward had been overlooked by his country until Ratomir Dujkovic drafted him for the friendly clash with Saudi Arabia last December.

After the Black Stars' disappointing showing at the African Nations Cup, Mensah has held onto his place in the squad and played a part in the recent defeat to Mexico.

The powerful striker has experience of European football and plays in Swiss Super League for St Gallen but he may have to rely on injuries and suspensions to get his chance this summer.
