Having made his Croatia debut at the start of 2004, Ivan Klasnic's international career is still in relative infancy, yet he has already carved himself out a role as Dado Prso's strike partner.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, the 26-year-old represents his parents' country of birth - but it is his homeland that has really earned the headlines.

Back in 2003-04, Klasnic's Werder Bremen began the Bundesliga season with hopes of a top-five finish but ended it as domestic double winners.

And despite previously lacking first-team experience Klasnic struck up a formidable understanding with prolific Brazilian Ailton as the northern club won the Bundesliga for the third time in their history.
