With the striking talents Marco van Basten has at his disposal it is perhaps no surprise that Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has struggled to make a breakthrough for Holland so far in his career.
He managed to appear in three qualifying games for this summer's showpiece, but failed to score a goal.
However he should not be overlooked as a dangerous force. Blessed with height and power, he poses a major threat from set-plays but he also has quick feet and can unleash a fierce shot.
His international career began brightly in the Dutch Under-21s, helping them win the European title in 2000 before making his full debut later that year in a World Cup qualifier against Portugal.
The 28-year-old has always been prolific for PSV since joining them in a high profile move from FC Twente in 2001 for 11million euros. He was the club's top scorer in 2004/05, netting 19 times in their Double-winning campaign.
This year Vennegoor of Hesselink has struggled to find the form he's capable of but will certainly provide sufficient back-up for the Dutch in Germany.
