Tomas Galasek is like a fine wine as he continues to defy his age and bring value to both his club and country.

The 33-year-old plays a pivotal role in the Czech Republic's midfield and his wealth of experience will prove invaluable this summer.

Cool, calm and collected on the ball, Galasek has been an important player for Ajax since he joined them in 2000. He steered the Dutch giants to a domestic double in 2001/02 but due to some niggling injuries his run in the side over the past two years has been patchy.

However the veteran has still put in some impressive displays in the Champions League this season to help Danny Blind's men in their run to the last 16 of the tournament.

Galasek made his international debut way back in 1995 but it was not until the qualifying campaign for Korea/Japan 2002 when he made a breakthrough.

The Czechs may not have reached the World Cup that year but starring as their anchorman, Galasak was instrumental in their incredible Euro 2004 run where they reached the semi-finals only to be dumped out by Greece.
