Playing in the third tier of English football for Port Vale, Chris Birchall is a right-winger who can also play in the centre but he is more well known for being Trinidad & Tobago's first white player for 60 years.
His mother was born in Trinidad and lived there until she was 18, so Birchall always knew he was eligible to play for them.
Yet it wasn't until Wrexham centre-back Dennis Lawrence approached him during a match that he seriously considered the reality of representing the 'Soca Warriors'.
A screamer from outside the box against Honduras in the Gold Cup endeared him to the Trinidad & Tobago fans, and he can now look forward to facing England in the World Cup.
Birchall is strong and quick, with a powerful shot and plays mainly in the centre for Trinidad and Tobago. He won Young Player of the Year for Port Vale last season and will be looking to make a name for himself against his homeland.
