A tall, footballing centre-half, Douglas Sequeira has also been deployed as a holding midfield player by both club and country.

He enjoyed five successful seasons at Saprissa in Costa Rica and has had spells at Feyenoord in Holland and Karlsruhe in Germany.

Despite making his international debut in 2000, Sequeira missed out on the 2002 World Cup but is a certain starter this time round as long as he stays fit.
