The Poles' joint top scorer in qualifying with seven goals, Maciej Zurawski is one of the most prolific domestic strikers to come out of the country.
A record of 93 league goals in 130 matches for Wisla Krakow between 2000 and 2005 made him a target for some of Europe's bigger guns and 'Magic' eventually joined Celtic for £2million.
Born in Poznan, Zurawski's professional career began his home city with Warta but a move to city rivals Lech provided his big break as he began to hit the net with more regularity.
That brought about an international call-up for the friendly against Slovakia in November 1998 and, as his impressive form continued, a move to Wisla Krakow followed in the summer of 1999.
There he won three Ekstraklasa titles, two Polish Cups and a League Cup as well as winning the 'golden boot' twice in his five seasons.
That form unsurprisingly saw him promoted from the role of fringe player at international level to a regular and he started all three of the Poles' 2002 World Cup games in Japorea - missing a penalty against the USA along the way - and has been a virtual ever-present since.
A powerful striker with a seemingly unerring eye for goal, Zurawski is a threat both in the air and on the ground, possessing aerial strength and two good feet.
