Ghana have a wealth of exciting young talent in their squad and one of their most potent of threats is Asamoah Gyan.

The Modena frontman scored four goals in the qualifying campaing including the third in the 4-0 thrashing of the Cape Verde Islands which sealed Ghana's place at the World Cup.

Gyan made an immediate impact on the international scene, netting on his debut during a World Cup preliminary victory over Somalia in November 2003. He kept his place to be a part of the Black Meteors' failed 2004 Olympic Games tournament in Athens where they exited in the group stage

An expressive dancer when he scores, Gyan is skilful, aggressive, and very quick. He is also combative, dominant in the air and an exceptional finisher.

In January 2003 the 20-year-old striker joined Italian side Udinese but despite showing promise in the youth ranks Gyan failed to breakthrough and a transfer to Serie B Modena followed.

Although Gyan is still on a learning curve, he features heavily in first-team action and has the raw ability to show his class in Germany.
