Hatem Trabelsi has enjoyed a reputation as one one of the game's top right-backs for a while now, and is probably Tunisia's highest-profile player.

He began his career at CS Sfaxien where he was initially a right-sided midfielder but a switch to full-back brought him international recognition and he was part of the Tunisia team that faced England in the 1998 World Cup.

Trabelsi joined Ajax in 2001, and became a consistently outstanding player for them with some eye-catching Champions League performances.

Europe's top clubs were watching him closely, but Ajax were not ready to part with him and when he requested a transfer they held him to his contract, and the subsequent six-month spell in the reserves did little for his ambitions of playing in a major league. A knee injury also kept him out.

Trabelsi has since reconciled his differences with the Amsterdam club, and is back on form in the first team although a good World Cup performance could finally see him earn his big move.

This will be Trabelsi's third appearance in a World Cup Finals and he is now one of the senior players in the squad.

An athletic performer, who tends to boss the right flank with great authority, as well as providing plenty of crosses his big-match experience will be vital if Tunisia are to contain the likes of Fernando Torres and Andriy Shevchenko.
