Few outside of Italy had heard of Vicenzo Iaquinta until a couple of years ago but when Udinese earned a place in the UEFA Cup for the 2003/04 season, the goals started to flow.
Iaquinta, formerly of Castel di Sandro, bagged 13 league goals in the 2004/05 season and propelled Udinese into fourth place and a Champions League qualifying spot.
He scored goals in both legs of the qualifier against Sporting and contributed six goals in seven Champions League appearances.
Iaquinta is committed striker with a powerful shot on both feet. He is a big aerial threat and tracks back to defend when necessary.
He became a fixture in the Italy squad for the World Cup qualifying campaign and has attracted the attention of Europe's top clubs.
