Cristian Bolanos is a central midfielder and is considered one of the most talented young players in the CONCACAF region.

He played for Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa in the 2005 World Club Championships and was named the third-best player of the tournament by FIFA.

Saprissa qualified by winning the national championship and the UNCAF Cup, in which Bolanos was instrumental.
