Position: Midfield

Born: 11.02.1980

Club: Parma

Bresciano scored the equalising goal for Australia that took them to a penalty shoot out against Uruguay.

The goalscoring midfielder plays in Serie A for Parma, and has become an important part of the Socceroos team of late. He is another versatile Aussie midfileder, capable of playing anywhere across the midfield.

Bresciano started out at Carlton in Australia and moved to Italian side Empoli in 1999. In 2002 Parma paid $23 million for him, making him the most expensive Australian footballer ever.

He was a key part of Parma's 2004/05 UEFA Cup run which came to a halt when they lost to eventual winners CSKA Moscow in the semi-finals.

Bresciano has expressed a desire to play for a bigger club and Inter are thought to be watching him. The World Cup will provide the perfect showcase to display his talents to a global audience.
