Sydney-born Harry Kewell made his Leeds United debut at just 17 years old, and two years later he was a first-team regular.
His pace, flair and goal scoring ability earned him many plaudits at an early age. He can play on the left wing or as a supporting striker.
He was arguably the biggest star in the Leeds side that promised so much around the turn of the millennium, and he was named Leeds Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year for the 1999/2000 season.
Leeds were forced to sell him when they ran into financial trouble and he completed a move to Liverpool in 2003, the club he had supported since he was a boy.
Since signing at Anfield, Kewell has struggled with both form and fitness, and his Liverpool career was summed up when he had to be substituted early in the first half of the Champions League final in Istanbul.
Kewell has a strained relationship with Australian fans, due to his lack of appearances in less important games, but he remains perhaps their most dangerous player, and is starting to regain his form at Liverpool.
