Kashima Antlers coach Paulo Cesar Autuori claims he is ready to coach the Brazil national team if he is offered the job.
Speculation has surrounded the future of incumbent Carlos Alberto Parreira ever since Brazil's quarter-final elimination at the hands of France.
Brazilian Autuori told Radio Globo: "In life, I'm prepared and ready for everything, including coaching the national team.
"But there has been no contact yet and I don't work with just possibilities.
"My life, today, is Kashima."
Autuori confirmed that there is no release clause in the contract with the Japanese club, just "a moral commitment with the team until the end of the year".
Autuori won the Campeonato Brasileiro with Botafogo in 1995 and guided Sao Paulo to one of the most successful years in their history in 2005, when the team won the Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Championship.
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and ex-Real Madrid boss Wanderley Luxemburgo have also been mentioned as possible successors should Parreira leave his post.
