Sweden striker Henrik Larsson has opened the pre-match media sparring ahead of the second-round showdown with Germany by insisting all the pressure is on the hosts.
Germany secured top spot in Group A while Sweden finished runners-up to England in Group B to set up an intriguing last 16 tussle in Munich this Saturday.
Jurgen Klinsmann's side carry the hopes of the host nation into the game, a fact which Larsson believes may work against the three-time World Cup winners.
"They have all the pressure on them, the big expectations and the home crowd," he said.
"It can feel nice to have that support, but it could also be a heavy burden.
"We respect Germany, they have world-class players and have grown during the tournament, but at the same time we have to believe in ourselves."
After gutsy displays against England and Paraguay, Larsson insists there is plenty of self-belief amongst Lars Lagerback's men heading into the knock-out stages.
"You always believe in the team, you always believe you can do something," he added.
"We have shown so far that this team never gives up. It is an incredible strength to have. As long as there is still playing time left, we fight - that is our strength."
