Trinidad & Tobago's prime minister Patrick Manning believes the Soca Warriors deserve the "highest praise for another outstanding performance at the World Cup".
After seeing the 2-0 defeat by England, Manning said that the team "played face to face against a highest-level team".
Trinidad & Tobago frustrated England for more than 80 minutes before late goals from Peter Crouch and Steven Gerrard settled the game.
"Despite the loss, our boys demonstrated that we have a truly world-class team representing T&T in this premier world sporting event," Manning said.
"With millions of people watching the event, the Soca Warriors again made our nation very proud."
