Roger Lemerre has signed a contract extension which will keep him in charge of Tunisia until 2008.
Jacquet's current deal was due to expire after the World Cup but he is now tied to the north African nation for a further two years with an option to extend his stay until 2010.
The 64-year-old, who was assistant to Aime Jacquet when France won the World Cup in 1998 and took over as coach for Les Bleus' successful Euro 2000 campaign.
He took the Tunisia job after France's woeful 2002 World Cup campaign and led them to African Nations Cup success on home soil in 2004.
