A fine performance in the friendly match with Togo helped Mohammed Ameen get a late call into the Saudi squad.

He has two good feet but is more a creative player than an out-and-out goalscorer.

His ability is beyond dispute but it remains to be seen whether he will get in the starting line-up with coach Marcos Paqueta hoping to give backbone to a side that was sorely lacking in that department four years ago.

Unfortunately for fans of the beautiful game, Ameen's silky skills may be deemed too much of a luxury.
