Widely considered one of the brightest young talents in Serbian football, attacking full-back Dusan Basta made his senior international debut as a late substitute in the cauldron of his country's crucial World Cup qualifier with Spain back in March 2005.

He helped his side secure a goalless draw, which was one of the incredible nine clean sheets Serbia & Montenegro kept in qualifying.

Basta played no further part in the qualification programme but has been outstanding this season for Crvena Zvezda, helping them win the domestic double. A versatile player, he can also operate in midfield.
