Cartagines striker Victor Nunez was somewhat fortunate to be included in the World Cup squad after knee ligament injuries suffered by Rolando Jimanez ruled him latter out of the competition.

But the well-travelled Nunez, who has also played for Limonense, Saprissa and Alajuelense, will be looking to take his chance if given one.

The 26-year-old is capable of causing defenders problems with his pace but he will have to work exceptionally hard if he is to be included in Costa Rica's fixtures due to the competition in his position.
