One of the Polish league's most feared frontmen, Ireneusz Jelen goes to the World Cup on a high having fired Wisla Plock to victory in the Polish Cup this season.

More at home out wide but with pace and a good touch making him an option through the middle, the 25-year-old had won just seven caps when named in Pawel Janas' squad but already had an international goal to his name having scored against Lithuania.

Likely to find himself confined to substitute appearances - particularly having not played a part in qualifying - Jelen and Pawel Brozek look like being Poland's future strikeforce.
