Cristian Benitez is still learning his trade but will be striving to prove he has what it takes to become an international class striker this summer.

The 20-year-old, who struggles to win a place in the El Nacional starting line up, was one of Luis Fernando Suarez's surprise inclusions in Ecuador's World Cup squad, coming in at the expense of the more experienced Johnny Baldeon.

Nevertheless, in the long-term Benitez hopes to emulate his father - Ecuador goalscoring sensation Ermen Benitez - and if given a chance in Germany his pace and eye for goal could cause a stir.
