There may seem no logical reason why Damian Lanza has been given the chance to go to the World Cup, but Luis Fernando Suarez obviously rates him.

Not only is he second-choice stopper to Ronnard Garcia at his club Aucas, he started in Mexico's 3-0 drubbing to Poland in a friendly last year.

However the 24-year-old, who warmed the bench in five World Cup qualifiers, is still considered a bright prospect and this summer will give him valuable experience.
