Brazilian-born Antonio Naelson Matiasar is definitely one to look out for this summer.
Simply known as Zinha, he only made his international debut in January 2005 after he was encouraged by coach Ricardo Lavolpe to switch nationalities.
Since then he has played a pivotal role in the Azteca green of Mexico, playing in 12 qualifying games and scoring three times from a creative midfield role.
In Germany last year he produced some scintillating displays during the Confederations Cup and scored with a cracking 30-yard screamer against Japan in his man-of-the-match performance.
At club level Zinha was never given the chance to blossom in the place of his birth but following a relatively successful spell in Mexico's second division, the midfield dynamo joined Toluca where he subsequently won three league titles.
Measuring just 5ft 3in and weighing less than 11 stone, the diminutive playmaker is fast and tricky to predict and has the ability to carve out killer passes to the likes of Jared Borgetti up front.
Although the 30-year-old has been late to discover the international scene, there is no doubt he will be a star attraction at the World Cup as he hopes to show Brazil what they missed.
