Luis Ernesto Perez is one of Mexico's key midfield maestros and this summer he will be crucial in their bid for glory.
Since making his international debut in a friendly against England in 2001 Perez has evolved into a real force and starred at the 2003 Gold Cup, the 2004 Olympics and the 2005 Confederations Cup in Germany.
A set-piece specialist, Perez is also one of El Tricolors more skilful players using his low centre of gravity effectively to dribble round his man.
Perez was a regular in the qualification stage, playing 11 matches and scoring five goals along the way.
