Position: Defender

Club: Hertha Berlin
Arne Freidrich is a man that has already made German history.
After only playing two games in the Bundesliga for Hertha Berlin in 2002, Freidrich won a surprise call-up to the full German squad, effectively becoming the most inexperienced debutant for his country.
Freidrich is a solid defender and can play well at both full-back and centre-back. He is likely to play in every game for Germany in this year's World Cup in what will be his first major tournament having missed Euro 2004.
The 27-year-old is a natural-born leader and after fighting his way back into the side following his disappointment in Portugal he was even given the privilege of captaining Germany against Thailand in December 2004.
When fit, Freidrich has being a valuable member of the team and he will look to continue his rise to providence this summer.
