FC Tokyo's experienced shot-stopper Yoichi Doi made just one appearance in qualifying, keeping a clean sheet in the 1-0 home win over Singapore in November 2004.

The 32-year-old has little hope of forcing his way ahead of Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi or Seigo Narazaki in the pecking order, despite his reliable reputation and sound reflexes.

In fact, he is considered by many to be Japan's best goalkeeper but coach Zico does not agree with that line of thinking, making Doi firmly third-choice.
