Powerful forward Jiri Stajner is not really a goalscorer, but that is not to say he is of little value to the Czech Republic squad.

Often likened to a battering ram, Stajner has the ability to hold up the ball well, taking the pressure off the defence.

The 30-year-old, like the majority of Czech strikers, has benefited from Karel Bruckner's liking of a big man up front but as long as Jan Koller is around, Stajner will have to battle it out with Vratislav Lokvenc for a substitute role.
