Martin Jiranek's stock in the Czech Republic squad has reduced somewhat since he played a crucial role in their run to the semi-finals of Euro 2004.

The 27-year-old only played in five qualifying games and will have to rely on appearances off the bench to be a part of this summer's World Cup.

As a strong defender who likes to venture forward, Jiranek adapted to life well in Italy's Serie A during his spell with Reggina before moving to Spartak Moscow in the summer of 2004.
