If Gonzalo Pineda continues his rapid rise to prominence, then he could be a dangerous player for Mexico this summer.

The 23-year-old started his career at UNAM Pumas but did not play a senior game for them before making his international bow at the 2004 Olympics.

After his impressive showing there, Pineda then earned his full international cap against Trinidad & Tobago the following September and since then he has turned into a key player for his current club Guadalajara as well as in the Azteca Green of Mexico.

A steady, technical all-rounder, Pineda is a likely starter in the left wing-back position where he can not only reliably defend, but also attack with menace.
