Maarten Stekelenburg is a young goalkeeper who plays his club football for the mighty Ajax.

Now 23, he has been with the Dutch giants since he was 15 having moved to Amsterdam from minnows W. Schoten.

Stekelenburg made his breakthrough into the Ajax team at just 19 where he made his debut in a game against NAC Breda.

He went on to be capped by his country for the first time in 2004 although that appearance, in a 3-0 win over Liechtenstein, was his only one before the squad to travel to Germany was named.
