A veteran of the 2002 Finals, Pablo Aimar is one of several players to have been dubbed 'the new Maradona' by an expectant Argentine public.
Having spent five years as a youngster with River Plate in his homeland, the pocket dynamo's performances marked him out as a future talent - hence the daunting tag - and he began working his way through the international ranks before making his full debut in 1999.
Two years later he moved to the 'big time' as Valencia shelled out 24million euros for him and he was immediately thrown into Champions League action, taking a little time to acclimatise to the European style of play.
He still lacks a little consistency even now - not helped by injury problems that have blighted his Mestalla career - but is extremely talented on the ball.
His qualifying stats suggest a role as an 'impact player' this summer, but there's no doubt the 26-year-old can deliver the goods if called upon.
