Blerim Dzemaili is one half of FC Zurich's midfield duo with Xavier Maragairaz although it's unlikely that partnership will materialise at international level this summer.

The 20-year-old's excellent form helped his club snatch the Swiss title at the death and now Kobi Kuhn has rewarded him with a spot at the World Cup.

There is some long-term thinking with his selection as Switzerland prepare to host Euro 2008 knowing they need to give some of their up-and-coming hopefuls some experience on the biggest stage of all.

Dzemaili's only international appearance so far came in the 3-1 friendly victory over Scotland in February but the defensively-minded midfielder only featured for 10 minutes.
