Position: Defender
Born: 07.09.80
Club: Real Zaragoza

Yet to secure himself a regular starting place for Argentina, Gabriel Milito was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last season but remains on the books of Spanish Primera Liga side Real Zaragoza.

Rated in the £7-8million bracket, the 25-year-old possesses a good football brain and is a good tackler but is hardly lightning quick and isn't the tallest of central defenders.

So highly thought of he was on the verge of a move to giants Real Madrid from Independiente in 2003 when the deal fell through because of a knee injury, Milito eventually joined Zaragoza - but that looks unlikely to be his last destination.

Liverpool may well not make a move for him again, particularly given their strength in defence now, but it would be no surprise to see this classy operator boosting his profile with a move to one of Europe's bigger clubs.
