Position: Defender
Born: 18.01.87
Club: Arsenal

Young Gunner Johan Djourou was a somewhat surprise selection having played no part in Switzerland's qualification for the World Cup.

However the 19-year-old is expected to have an exceptional future at the top and has already made 12 appearances for Arsenal this season.

Born in the Ivory Coast, Djourou moved to Switzerland as a child and made his high-profile switch to the Premiership giants from Swiss lower division side Etoile Carouge in 2004 having impressed for the Swiss Under-17 side.

Listed in the Swiss squad as a defender, Djourou can play in midfield and even attack and he will therefore provide Kobi Kuhn with useful depth this summer.
